Develop Your Gifts: Unlock and Find Your True Self

If you’re a teenager or college student trying to figure out what you want out of life, you’re not alone. It can be challenging to discover your talents and develop them, but it’s worth the effort. In this post, we’ll explore the lessons of motivational speaker Les Brown with the video below and how you can apply them to your life.

Brown believes that everyone has a gift, but most people never discover or develop their talents. He says that developing your gifts can take you to many places and that your gifts will serve you well if you nurture them. So, how can you develop your gifts and achieve your goals?

First, you need to make a conscious effort to develop your talents. Don’t wait for someone to discover them for you. Instead, decide that you want to develop your gifts, and take action. This is what being young is all about discovering who you are, and learning to say no to things that will distract from that. Sometimes making mistakes along the way.

One way to develop your talents is by reading. Brown suggests that if you read one book a month in a particular area you’re interested in, you’ll be among the top 5% of experts in the world in that area within five years. That’s a powerful statement, and it shows the impact that focused reading can have on your life.

Another way to develop your talents is by practicing regularly. When you do something you’re good at, you’ll feel a sense of competence that can boost your self-confidence. This feeling of competence can spill over into other areas of your life, helping you feel more in control of your destiny.

But developing your talents isn’t always easy. Brown acknowledges that it’s hard work and that most people give up on themselves easily. To succeed, you need to have the strength of character to concentrate, read, and digest information, even when others are having a good time. You need to have a “made-up mind” and the power to endure, no matter what obstacles you face.

One of the keys to developing a winning mindset is to find motivational heroes to learn from in your life. Les Brown is one such hero, but there are many others. Look for people who have achieved what you want to achieve, and learn from them. Read their books, listen to their talks, and watch their videos. Surround yourself with positive influences that will help you develop the mindset of a winner.

Developing your talents is the key to achieving your goals and living your dreams. It’s not easy, but it’s worth the effort. By reading, practicing, and developing a winning mindset, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. So, go out there and develop your gifts. The world is waiting for you.
